yup.

in the first three days, we had to pull the venturi out of the scrubber for the little boilers. it is 33' 1" in circumference. about 7-8 feet tall? oh yeah, its a bull-rig show. drag it out the side and have the crane take the load while its coming out. at 60-70 feet up or so. had to cut the structure out of one side of the tower, beam and wind bracing and cross braces and kickers. buried way the fuck deep into the tower structure/

also, changed the rotor in an ID fan.... in the middle of the fucking plant. no crane access. has an old rickety monorail to lift stuff with, then travel it out to where the crane CAN reach. sucks.

had a 2" 8' nylon snap today, one of two which were holding the fan rotor (3 tons) up on the hoist, about 25 feet overhead. my guys wanted to basket, i told them to double wrap choke it. lucky we did it my way. when that strap went, the whole load was on the one strap and it was trapped thru the blades so it didnt drop too much. it has a solid shaft thru the fan of 6" . if they basketed it like they wanted to, shit woulda killed someone.

you know, the fun stuff..... tired of this fucking place already. only 39 more days to go. haha.

on blackout weekend (3 days), we have three 12" weld in valves to change. i think the steam lines are 1500psi. and they are Sch 160 wall piping. TIG root and hot passes, then stick it out to fill and cap. and one is changing from a vert oriented valve to put it on the horizontal. so there is 3 or 4 of those welds on that one alone.... and three days to do all the welds. round the clock. fly in an extra 6-8 guys i think for that? class 6 guys...

that shit wont mean much to alot of you guys...

Interesting stuff Aaron. I actually sell quite a few ash handling conveyor parts to an oem. I don't deal with the stuff you do, but I've been around a few garbage burning powerplants. There is one complete pia customer in Ohio that I have to go on site for once in a while because it's run by a bunch of people with their heads up their asses. I love it, 'cause I get to climb a grated staircase outside up hundreds of feet beside a conveyor next to a lake, and the fuckers always have a problem in the dead of winter when it's ridiculously cold and the wind is whipping across the lake. When I get there, it's always the same old problems that they never fix, and they never listen to me.

if the fucking engineers knew how to get off their ass and pull a measurement in the field once in a while, pre-fab would be better. not 100%, but better. fuck, i'd take 80%. lol.

got your text. i'll shoot back at you in the morn. my twic card is good. i have a huge shut down in feb/march doing 7-10's. should last about 45 days.
